When I was in high school, I used to do my homework with my radio on. This drove my father crazy. I would roll my eyes as my father would step into my room and proceed to give me a lecture about doing homework with so much noise. What he didn’t realize was that I was fully capable of blocking the music out of my mind while I was working. So, then what was the point of having the music on in the first place? Simply put, I liked to have background noise when I was doing my work. This pattern of getting work done changed when I got into college and began work on my Master’s degree. Suddenly, I found myself focusing not on my thesis paper but, rather, I was focusing more on the song lyrics. I tried listening to only classical music, but then I found that I was trying to discern all of the different instruments that were involved in the piece. Eventually, I just turned my music off.

For everyone, there are different things that help them to focus more while working. Many Americans swear by coffee to help them “get started” in the mornings, and while there is some scientific research to suggest that the caffeine in coffee may in fact assist us in staying a little more focused, it is still at topic that is up for debate. Personally, I have never had to resort to drinking coffee in the morning. However, I did find that actually eating a healthy breakfast after getting up early and going for a run always made me feel awake and ready to go.

Depending on what your work environment is, you may need to work slightly harder to cut out distractions. Especially if you work in an office environment, you have to deal with noisy co-workers, telephones ringing nonstop, doors opening and closing, computers crashing, etc.. It is a wonder that anyone gets any work done while they are at work! While you are at work, make a list of all of the things that you plan to accomplish for the day. Pencil in breaks for yourself if you have to so that you aren’t sitting still for long periods of time. While there is nothing that you can do about noisy co-workers, if you feel comfortable, you can speak to your supervisor about issues pertaining to other employees. If all else fails, buy a pair of ear plugs or a pair of headphones to listen to music quietly if it is allowed. Avoid checking your email or personal social networking sites too often. Ideally, you should avoid checking non-related work websites while you are at work.

Is it fair for them to “inherit” your debt?

You may think it is incredible but legally the creditors have the right to do so under certain circumstances. In general, many married couples have joint credit card accounts. As a result, they have joint debts. If you are a supplementary card holder and you pass away, it is possible for your loved one who acts as a primary card holder to be held liable for the occurred debt even if they may not have generated the debts themselves. The same thing applies to another scenario where your loved one cosigns on the credit card agreement with you. He or she is definitely responsible for the debt.

Death is unavoidable. Although it is impossible to prepare for an unexpected death, there are proactive steps that you can take to protect your family members financially. If you are knee deep in debt, you should make sure that your family members are well informed about the details of your debts. At least they have time for financial planning. As a responsible person, when you are still alive, make sure you put hard effort to get rid of your debt so that your loved one would not suffer.

Starting with newborns swaddled in pink, the color has become symbolic for little girls and big girls alike. But, did you know that up until 1914, the color pink, a watered-down red, was primarily associated with masculinity. However, after an American newspaper suggested pink was strictly for girls and blue for boys, the gender convention stuck. Currently, an artist in Korea is capturing the cultural preferences for various colors by children in her “Pink and Blue Project”, but with the effect of global advertising it seems that almost every modern country has become indoctrinated to the association of pink with femaleness.

Think of this rosey hue and an image of a graceful ballerina might enter your mind along with her pink frothy tutu and pink ballet shoes. Hello Kitty, that feminine little feline anime that is a world-wide girl trend everywhere from Japan to the US, is all about the power of pink. Princesses tucked away in their majestic castles in the sky always wear pink ball gowns, don sparkling pinkish diamond tiaras and eat pink meringue cupcakes for dinner. All of these oh-my-goodness, so girly examples of pink can make a great starting place for some of the best Halloween costumes.

But we hate to leave the guys out of things that are pink-ified. If a guy is looking to don the color of prima donnas, a pink shirt or a pink tie says he isn’t afraid to be in touch with his feminine side. For a Halloween party, brave and bawdy guys can dress up in pink womens costumes and mimic the pinker sex. Or, there are also pink costumes that are just very suitable for men from a pig costume (no offense) to a Pink Panther costume; guys can show their love for this not-just-for-the-ladies color by sporting it on their proverbial sleeve.

Who? When? Where And Why?” are questions which we ask ourselves from time to time concerning our lives, our existence and the seen and unseen in our environment and the universe as a whole. Sometime we may think we know the answer, sometime we admit we do not know. Those who claims they know the answer, whether they are speaking from religious conviction, spiritual experience or from scientific theories, most of the time their answer (if they can provide an answer) can not cover all the above four questions in the exact details the question strongly insist upon.

Who?

When?

Where

And why?

These questions will stay with many people across the globe during their lives time on this planet. One of the reasons why we join certain groups, sects, various religions and similar affiliations is simply because either we are searching for the truth and/or what we feel that this is where we belong to, or feeling comfortable with or connected with – which may give us the answer to all our questions and/or to provide us of what we need – whether during our present lives or our lives in the after.

There are different categories. My favorite one is the fighting varietals. I am not talking about the quality of the wines in this category, but about the name. The name refers to the fact these wines are fighting for the wine drinker dollar. Still, “fighting varietals” sounds like it should be the name of a college football mascot. Can’t you just picture a guy in a wine bottle costume running around the sidelines?

We are not talking about fighting varietals in this article. No, we are focused on the most expensive wines, which are known as “reserve” wines. At least this is the case in Europe where there is a legal restriction on what can be designated as a reserve wine. Unfortunately, there is no such quality control in the United States, so you have to be careful when determining what is a top quality wine and what is not.

So, what makes these wines so expensive? Well, the grapes and vines are rather obvious and correct answers. Every wine starts with the vine in the ground and the fruit produced. Problems with the organic parts of the equation will result in lesser bottles of wine. An older vine may produce fewer grapes, but the quality of those grapes will be high. That makes the value of the vine and grape high, which is translated to the cost of the wine produced.

You can have the best vine in the world, but it won’t mean much if you don’t have a vineyard with quality soil and a perfect climate. This combination is fairly rare. As you know from the housing market, location, location, location is always important when figuring the value of something. The same goes with vineyards. A vineyard in Missouri simply doesn’t compare to one in Bordeaux, France.

Aging is another factor that heavily contributes to the high cost of expensive wine. A quality reserve wine must be aged. This develops the full flavor of the wine, but makes for a horrific business model. Imagine a car company producing vehicles and sticking them in storage for five years before sending them to the dealers! That would cause some serious cash flow issues and top vineyards have such a problem. They account for it by charging much more per bottle produced and rightly so.

Is a reserve wine really worth the cost? The logical answer would seem to be yes, but it really depends on your palette. If you are new to wine, then it probably is not. As you become more familiar with the nuances of wine, trying a reserve can be a real eye opening experience.
